SERVICE AREA
Dock-grade construction for luxury Hill Country homes, ranch estates, and acreage properties.
Boerne and Kendall County represent one of the fastest-growing luxury home markets in the Texas Hill Country. Custom homes on 1–10+ acre lots, ranch estates with long-range views, and hillside properties overlooking Cibolo Creek and the surrounding terrain all share a common challenge: how to create permanent outdoor living space on land that wasn’t flat to begin with.
Traditional deck builders in the Boerne area offer wood or composite options that require ongoing maintenance, fade in Texas UV, and present fire risk during dry Hill Country summers. Flatwork concrete contractors pour slabs on grade that can’t handle significant elevation changes.
Wulfhe Outdoor Living offers a third option that didn’t previously exist in this market: dock-grade elevated concrete decks. Steel pipe pilings driven into Kendall County’s limestone terrain, structural steel framework, and a reinforced concrete slab that creates a permanent, fireproof outdoor platform at any elevation. It’s the same construction our sister company uses for waterfront docks — proven over 17 years on the Guadalupe River.
Kendall County is in a designated high wildfire risk zone. Non-combustible steel-and-concrete construction eliminates deck fire risk entirely — a consideration that wood and composite simply cannot match.
Stamped concrete, acid stain, and exposed aggregate finishes create surfaces that complement high-end Hill Country architecture. These are not “boards” — they’re continuous, custom-finished surfaces.
Large Kendall County lots often have terrain that varies significantly across the property. Elevated construction works with the land rather than requiring massive earthwork to level it.
Starting at $60/sqft, a concrete deck costs the same as composite but lasts 3–5x longer with zero maintenance. For Boerne’s luxury market, that’s the kind of permanent investment these properties deserve.

How We Build →Permitting requirements in Kendall County depend on your property’s location. Properties inside the Boerne city limits fall under the city’s building department and typically require a building permit for elevated structures. Properties in unincorporated Kendall County — the majority of the county’s acreage, including most ranch properties and rural residential lots outside Boerne and Comfort — face fewer requirements, and many projects require no formal permit at all. Certain HOA communities in the Boerne area maintain their own architectural review processes; where applicable, we coordinate with the HOA on your behalf.
We assess the permitting situation for your specific address during the site consultation and handle everything in-house if permits are required. You never deal with county offices or HOA architectural committees directly.

Boerne and Kendall County is defined by the terrain that makes the Hill Country beautiful — and difficult to build on. The rolling terrain of Kendall County — from ranch estates outside Boerne to the steep river valleys near Comfort — means most residential and rural properties have significant grade to contend with. For property owners here, the question isn’t whether the lot has slope; it’s what to do about it.
Wulfhe Outdoor Living builds outdoor living structures specifically designed for this terrain. Elevated concrete decks that create level platforms above uneven ground. Limestone retaining walls that permanently terrace steep sections. Raised concrete patios that stay flat regardless of what the grade below them does. If your Boerne and Kendall County property has been sitting with an unusable backyard, an eroding hillside, or a grade change that prevented any previous contractor from giving you a workable proposal, we should have a conversation.
